1. Introduction

ThoughtsSky (the “App”) is provided by individual developer Hung Chen-Jung (“we,” “us,” or the “developer”) to help you record, organize, and reflect on your thoughts and related emotional content.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

3. Data We Collect and Why

3.1 Account data

What: Email address, password (stored securely by Firebase Authentication using hashing—we cannot read your plain-text password), Firebase user ID (UID). You may also sign in anonymously.
Why: Create and manage your account, authentication, password reset, link your data to your account, and process account deletion.

3.2 Content you provide (thought records)

What: Text you type or dictate (up to 500 characters per entry), cloud type (gray/gold/white), domain/emotion/thinking-pattern tags you select, timestamps, and original/transformed text when you convert a gray cloud to a gold cloud.
Where stored: Google Cloud Firestore (users/{your UID}/thoughts), accessible only by your account per Firestore security rules.
Why: Core features such as recording, calendar view, statistics (Treasure Box), transformation, and editing.

3.3 Voice input

What: When you use the microphone, audio is processed by the Android system speech recognition service (typically Google) and converted to text in the input field. We do not store audio files on our own servers.
Why: Optional voice input for thoughts. Recording is limited to about 45 seconds; you can stop by tapping stop, cancel, back, save, or leaving the App.

3.4 Subscriptions and payments

What: Subscription status and related transaction information processed by Google Play Billing (provided by Google; we do not store card numbers or full payment details).
Why: Verify subscription benefits (e.g., unlocking calendar history).

3.5 Feedback

What: Feature suggestions or bug reports you submit (up to 500 characters), account email (or “anonymous” for anonymous sign-in), UID, app version, and timestamp.
Where stored: Firestore feedback collection (for product improvement; not publicly readable by other users).
Why: Handle your feedback and debugging.

3.6 Device and app preferences

What: Your chosen UI language (Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese), stored locally on the device (SharedPreferences).
Why: Display the interface in your language.

3.7 Save to gallery (your action)

What: When you download a weekly summary image, it is saved to your device gallery via Android MediaStore. We do not upload this image separately.

3.8 What we do not collect (current version)

The App does not use precise GPS location, advertising tracking SDKs, or Firebase Analytics in the current codebase. If this changes, we will update this policy.

You may revoke permissions in device settings; some features may stop working.

Data may be processed or stored outside your country (e.g., Google data centers). We share data with third parties only as needed to provide the service.

6. Retention and Deletion

Retention: We keep your account and thought data while you use the service. We do not currently auto-delete inactive accounts; you may delete data yourself.
Delete account: In the App Account screen you can delete your account. We delete your thoughts in Firestore and your Firebase Authentication account. This is irreversible.
Feedback: Retained for product improvement; contact us to request deletion of specific feedback.

7. Security

We use HTTPS, Firebase security rules (only you can read/write your data), and similar measures. No method of transmission is 100% secure; please protect your account credentials.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Parents or guardians may contact us to request deletion.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing. Email ataraxyfield@gmail.com, or delete your account in the App.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy for new features or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated in the App or by other reasonable means. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy. Check the “Last updated” date periodically.

11. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.), with the Taipei District Court as the court of first instance, subject to mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

12. Other Languages

If versions conflict, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.
